The Mess in the US and How to Fix It

An avalanche of problems is threatening to bury the US. Meanwhile, the solutions we get from the politicians and the ‘Masters of the Universe’ are just adding to the weight of the overhanging snow. fixit.us is dedicated to bringing together the right combination of people to solve these problems.

1. Discuss and explore.

You might be just the person with that special experience or that one missing fact to drive us toward a needed solution, but how can you make your voice heard? Visit our forums and contribute to any discussion where you have knowledge that could be helpful. (Don’t see a discussion topic that should be here? Say something!) Over time, you will see where you can make the biggest contribution and where you are needed the most.

2. Work as groups.

Talk isn’t enough. To move beyond talk to productive action, fixit.us provides blogs and private work groups to organize group efforts. A work group could be two authors, or hundreds. Many hands make light work, but too many cooks spoil the broth. Competing groups are encouraged. More details on group formation are available in the FAQ section of the forum pages and in the forum itself.

3. Discover and solve.

First, we need facts and a clear vision of the problem; then we need imaginative solutions. Whatever the issue, the facts must support the truth of your solutions. Explore the consequences of various actions. Convince us in writing that your group has the answers to a problem.

4. Publish.

A great idea is of limited use if you don’t share it. All reports that meet our criteria of an honest, thorough analysis will be published by fixit.us. Your report will be featured here online. When warranted, it also will be published in book form, to be sold by major book outlets. When producing a solution, fixit.us staff will be available for consultation, but the inspiration, drive, ideas and outcome will be all your own. We will pay royalties to the authors of any reports that we publish in book form.

5. Execute.

Come back to the fixit.us community, gather support and plan for promotion of your ideas, so we can convert the plan into reality. When that time comes, the tools you need will be here for you.
